02 / Customer payments & balances
A customer can owe a balance even after a sale is recorded. RSM keeps the sale, payments and amount owed connected.
Part-paid or unpaid sales are for named customers. Walk-in sales require full payment.

03 / The complete sales workflow
Explore each step, including discounts, payment records, receipts and the actions needed after a sale.
Payment-method records describe how the customer paid. They do not, by themselves, mean RSM processes the payment.
Add the products being sold and their quantities. Apply the relevant discount or promotion, then review the amount due.
The completed sale connects the invoice to the stock movement, so stock quantities reflect what was sold.
Record the initial payment and payment method. For a named customer, a sale can be fully paid, part paid or unpaid.
Check the payment status and remaining balance. Walk-in sales require full payment.
Generate the invoice or receipt and use the available print or sharing options.
Invoices on Free carry the RSM watermark. Plus and Premium provide invoices without it.
When the customer pays again, record the payment against their balance. Review what has been collected and what is still owed.
Use the payment and customer-debt reports to review the records over your chosen period.
A return records goods coming back. A refund records money paid back. An invoice correction changes a completed sale through the supported correction workflow.
Use the action that matches the event, then review the resulting stock and customer balance. Voiding a completed invoice restores its stock movement.

Payments received show money collected in the period. Refunds and reversals affect the cash collected and balances.
Receiving an old balance does not create a new sale.ESTIMATED NET PROFIT
Gross profit is net sales less the cost of goods sold. Estimated net profit also subtracts recorded expenses.
Private cost and profit figures are restricted to the owner.Estimated net profit is a management estimate based on recorded data. It is not a tax return or a complete statutory accounting statement. Current debt and inventory are position figures; they differ from cash movements during a reporting period.
